5 of the Most Romantic Proposal Ideas

Updated: May 21, 2021

Proposing to the one you love is one of the most significant and memorable moments in your life. No pressure, right?

You want it to go as seamlessly as possible, but sometimes it can be hard to come up with ideas. I wanted to make it easier for you, so here are five of the my favorite client wedding proposal ideas to help you keep things simple and to help you make cherished new memories.

1. The on the beach proposal

There is something about a sunrise or a sunset that puts couples in a romantic mood. When you are on vacation, everyone is more relaxed and less stressed.

I might be biased, but an “on the beach proposal” tops the list of most romantic proposals because you can’t beat the waves lapping, the sand beneath your toes, the warm breeze, and striking scenery.

Plus, it gives you a place to return to for your destination wedding or to celebrate one of your many milestone anniversaries in future!

2. The hike the mountain proposal

This is an excellent proposal idea for nature lovers. There’s nothing that says dedication to your partnership like hiking a mountain to propose.

With amazing views in the backdrop, your partner-to-be is sure to swoon. Plus, you can spend the whole hike up thinking about the right words to say once you reach the top.

3. The top of the tower proposal

For the urbanites who want to do something special in their own city, this is a winner. Or you can put plans in motion to travel to another city with a fabulous view. You might already share a favorite city break destination, such as the place you met or where you got your first apartment.

It might be hard to top a “top of the tower” proposal while you're surrounded by all the buildings, allowing the architecture or city skyline to provide a great backdrop. Now imagine all the sparkle of the lights at night!

4. The perfect moment proposal

For the spontaneous types, the “perfect moment proposal” can happen anytime and anywhere. You suddenly look over at your partner, and you know you want to spend the rest of your life with them. You pop the question, and it is special because it comes straight from the heart.

Even though this is spontaneous, it generally works best if you have at least thought about marriage and aren’t using it as a way out of a more elaborate proposal.

5. The restaurant proposal

Don’t knock the classic “restaurant proposal”. There's a reason it's so popular, it can be simple and without all the distraction or pressure of planning something over the top, you can focus on each other in a familiar setting.

This is an excellent proposal option for those who would feel more comfortable and less nervous popping the question in a relaxed environment with a handful of other people nearby - or with a drink for liquid courage!

It also makes for great we just got engaged photos!
