It might just be time to dust off the old passport, do you even know where yours is after all this time? Travel looks like it's about to bounce back in a BIG way. To help us all get in the mood for the making of tomorrow's amazing memories, I figured I'd stroll down memory lane with 30 days of posts featuring 30 destinations which have stuck with me in mind and spirit.
Comments on your own experiences in any of these places are very welcome, you can jump in with your own Days of Destinations too - don't feel you've got to commit to a full month of posts, share your excitement with a few highlights of your own for a week and see if it doesn't make you smile just looking through that photo album 😸
Yes, I have take the Roman Coliseum tour. I find it really fascinating and especially when they take you below ground to where they would house the gladiators and lions/animals. Pretty barbaric but it was quite a popular event in its day. Every time I am in Rome I like to stroll by the Coliseum and I also sit across the street on a park bench sometimes for hours watching the tourists and taking in this breathtaking spectacle. And yes, I've done the Vatican tour several times. Did you get to the catacombs?
Love this Shylar! I was just reminiscing the other day on how fortunate I was for a few years BC (before Covid) as I traveled quite extensively. I’m looking forward to seeing your posts. So many great memories and experiences. Here’s one photo of the Roman Coliseum where I visited back in 2018.
Destination 1 of 30 is Nassau
Throwback Thursday and we're headed to Nassau, in The Bahamas.
My wife and I took a short escape to The Bahamas on a cruise from Miami in November of 2018.
I loved the colors and the style of the local buildings. I also loved how accessible the historic city center is, we walked past the pink facade of the governor's house before taking in the more somber Queen's Staircase. From here it was on to the beach as the temperature climbed with the sun, a bit of swimming and as much jerk chicken & pork as we could get our hands on!
