May might be my favorite month in England, with (often but not always, it’s an island after all) sunny warming weather and plenty of blooms across meadows and stone walls across the country!

But April hosts a huge surprise in the undergrowth. Bluebells spread slowly and take 5-7 years to come of age, ready to flower.
