This trip down memory lane is another oldie, I had a lot of fun looking through some of the photos and revisiting memories of great friendships.
Circa June 2008, I wasn't long into my first posting in Germany while serving in the British Army. With a small group of friends we explored the city's historic center and sampled one or two of the famous Czech beers.
I'm not much of a sports fanatic, but our trip coincided with the Euro Cup and I have to say that the city was electric as a result. Watching some of the final matches under the auspicious eye of Prague's astronomical clock was quite cool - a modern sporting event televised live to a crowd from across the continent and beyond, all held in Medieval Wenceslas Square.
Great beer, shockingly good food, and amazing weather. Truly a recipe for success in any classic European destination.
I haven't been to Prague (yet!) but have sampled Czech beer once or twice (ok maybe more than that!). Personally I really enjoy European beers and am partial to lagers. You also mentioned Germany - did you make it to Oktoberfest while you were stationed there? I was in Germany and Poland in 2015 and sampled quite a few German and Polish beers during that trip and of course Oktoberfest, a must do for anyone. Word of caution - do it while you're young lol as the beer flows far too
freely and is served in Litersteins. It's a fun time but you might feel a bit rough the next morning lol
