Right off the back of yesterday's cruise-themed destination is one of the most picture postcard perfect destinations I've ever visited. Everywhere you look, it's just a feast for the eyes... then you get to actually eat the food. Oh my!
I say it all the time to anyone who will listen, it must drive my wife nuts! Santorini is just one of those places which looks exactly like it does in the pictures.
Visiting with family during a cruise in August of 2019, this was one of the last trips I took prior to pandemic. This makes it stand out in my mind even more.
Local beer, gelato cafes, sunset wine tastings, and a trip to an unofficial beach were just some of the highlights. But I can't stress enough, while most destinations do look their brochure best during a sunny day - the Greek Islands enjoy so much dry, sunny weather throughout the summer time that it's hard not to be blown away by Santorini.
