Planning on visiting Haena State Park, including Kalalau Trail, the Hanakapi'ai Falls, and Ke'e Beach? If you're self-drive you're going to need to add self-permit to the list of things to do before you arrive.
The state park has introduced a daily allowance for visits and will be turning away vehicles which have not arranged a pass during the allotted advanced time, currently up to 14 days ahead of any planned visit.
Alternatives may be to take an inclusive shuttle from the North Shore.
Notice has included heavy parking fines for illegal parking, including down any of the residential side streets or on the highway.
