Beach at Baha Mar and Goodman's Bay, Nassau

Mid-November of 2018, @Holly and I took a short cruise to The Bahamas with Norwegian and explored some of the sights and resort properties of Nassau - including the stretch of Goodman's Bay which meets the resorts complex of Baha Mar.

It's the largest resort complex in the Caribbean, so it's hard to miss!

Under more regular operations there is capacity for cruise passengers and non-guests to use some of the dining and indoor facilities, the golf course, and the casino, of course.

The beach is beautiful, but reserved for resort guests for the SLS, Rosewood, and Grand Hyatt. There's a bit more flexibility with advanced planning to visit the Melia Nassau on the far side of the complex, or you can try the public areas east of Breezes.

You can see the tiniest bit of seaweed approaching the beach in the above shot, but it's clearly not a nuisance and the resort staff likely clean up regularly at a discreet hour.

Here's another shot from maybe an hour or two earlier, with a wide angle and closer to Goodman's Bay, closer to Breezes. You can see there is a little more accumulation of seaweed but still not any nuisance.

And then the easternmost edge of the Baha Mar/Breezes area, also the westernmost edge of the public areas of Goodman's Bay and looking back onto the resorts. Again, it's pretty clear that the hotels must have cleaned up at least a little during the day.

The sands of Goodman's Bay are equally beautiful, but no loungers and it gets a little rocky if you get as far as the eastern edge of the bay. The water is still a beautiful turquoise blue and there's even a little bit of shade from some rare, tall trees.

Although I didn't remember to take a photo of the public beaches and didn't capture an image of these shade trees, you're just going to have to believe me that they're there!
