The capital of Greece, Athens is a remarkable place to visit with an incredible history. Transport yourself through time, all you have to do is look up! Many of the city's buildings are about the same height and the elevated position of the Acropolis allows visitors to see it from all over the city, even at night. Highlights obviously include the Parthenon and other features of the Acropolis, but don't forget to enjoy more modern points of interest, such as the Presidential Guard (Evzones) in Syntagma Square or to visit the National Garden, the Agora, or even just enjoy a stroll through the greenery at Philopappou. Did we mention there's plenty of delicious food to try?
Athens is absolutely worth a dedicated visit and has been a popular pre-cruise stop for our clientele since we opened. Even if you're looking to enjoy a custom itinerary to explore some of the Greek Islands, you'll probably find the flight schedules from Canada & the US are most comfortable when planning at least one night of accommodation when you arrive here into Greece.

Athens is a year round destination, welcoming visitors to explore an amazing snapshot of ancient history in a bustling yet relaxed European capital. Athens is most popular during the hot summer months, however, as many visitors spend their first few days in Greece here before bouncing on to their ultimate destinations among the many beautiful islands.
