Sometimes called Yaowarat Road, the main thoroughfare for traffic crossing Bangkok's sprawling Chinatown. It's an older neighborhood of the city and renown for its food.

Foodies and anyone who enjoys the classic look of local life in Chinatown at home - only supersized. You'll likely cross through at some point during any stay in Bangkok, might as well jump out your tuktuk and eat something memorable.

Planning your trip

Not everything to eat will be unfamiliar, but if you want to really explore the flavors and fusion of two huge Asian culinary styles, engage a local guide for a great recommendation or dive deeper with a full tour during the evening hours.

When you should go

It's a colorful experience during the day, with plenty of eye-catching signage and vendors selling their wares on the sidewalk. However the market spaces really come to life at night.
