The Grand Velas is a luxury 5-Star property perched on the coastline of the Riviera Maya, on the north side of Playa del Carmen. While it is a family-friendly resort, love is certainly in the air - the property was featured in the popular Netflix reality romance show "Love is Blind".
For those seeking a bit more off-site entertainment in their romantic/family escape to Mexico, the Grand Velas is very well located for quick access to the town of Playa del Carmen.
Planning your trip
As above, the property is quite close to Playa del Carmen, meaning you'll have great opportunity to explore the town during a free afternoon of your vacation.
Plan to get off the resort and away from the bustle of city life, exploring Mexico's pyramids or wildlife at some point during your stay.
When you should go
Possibly the best rated family-friendly all-inclusive resort in the area, you'll find it is busiest here during the winter periods between December and March. There is also a busier stretch when school holidays are out in Canada and the US as the property is among the highest rated family-friendly all-inclusive resorts in the area.
