Green Turtle Inn

Serving up seafood since 1947, the Green Turtle Inn is a friendly bar & restaurant with a surprisingly bright interior considering the ample wood decoration.
A local hot spot on Upper Matecumbe, it's hard to miss the neon sign on the way down to Key West. Answer the call for a dinner or dessert, spoil yourself with a big breakfast during the weekend.
Planning your trip
As alluded above, the Key lime pie at the Green Turtle Inn is a little special. Although we suspect you need little excuse to try more variations of the famous dessert during your visit! The secret is a crushed Macadamia nut crust.
When you should go
The Turtle is not open on Mondays, but otherwise maintains quite flexible hours. Stop in any time from 7am to "close" Tuesdays through Saturdays, 7am through 2pm on Sundays.
What else you might need
You may not need a dinner reservation, but it'll help. Lunch and breakfast should be a little easier to arrange on arrival, or just opt to take out some of their Key lime pie.
