First opened to passengers in 1852, the station now sees more than 50 million guests through its halls each year! In addition to hosting a fictional platform with an unorthodox number, a creative upgrade in 2009 also saw a real life Platform 0 make use of an old black cab stand.
If you're connecting via London's Underground into the city from your Eurostar or other overseas arrival, or the other way around, you'll likely need to visit for transport purposes. Harry Potter fans will love the unique opportunity to explore a small but complimentary visit to Platform 9 3/4
Planning your trip
You can easily fly to Paris, enjoy a few nights in the City of Lights before arriving quickly into London via nextdoor St Pancras on the Eurostar before diving into London here at King's Cross. It's only a connection via Waterloo Station or arrange your private transfer in advance.
You may have to wait your turn, but there's a complimentary Harry Potter experience within the building at Platform 9 3/4. If nothing else, a photo opportunity but you may wish to explore the themed shop or sit for a snack or a drink nearby.
When you should go
As a transport hub, you'll likely only visit as part of an ongoing journey. The station is open throughout the year and any public or dining areas operate regular business hours.
What else you might need
The main halls are open to the public during regular business hours, you won't need a ticket unless you're boarding a train. This is true for Platform 9 3/4 as well.
