An amazingly historic city most famous for its university. Oxford has a couple of surprises up its sleeves, including a wide variety of hidden gardens and river's edge pubs.
The city's university draws the biggest visitor interest, you'll enjoy the opportunity to explore tiny histories of famous authors and alumni or to explore the city's even older history as a stronghold of medieval England.

When you should go
Oxford attracts visitors throughout the year. While the summer months see the biggest crowds, May or September might be a great opportunity to enjoy pleasant weather and green gardens.
