Secreted away within the Faena Hotel complex in Miami's luxurious and modern Faena District, the Pao dining experience features its own take on Asian cuisine and culture in the heart of Miami. Art is certainly on the menu, with one of Damien Hirst's Unicorn sculptures featuring as the focal point of the main dining area, one of two such gilded works on the property.
You don't have to be a guest of the hotel to dine at this restaurant, but you might enjoy the lively atmosphere and unique blends of international cuisine most if you've an open mind to the Faena style.
Planning your trip
If you're cruising from Miami or even Port Everglades and you're able to extend your stay by at least a night, you might enjoy this unique dining option.
If you're a dinner guest and not staying at the Faena, be sure to head out to the quieter, beach side public areas to see the other Damien Hirst exhibit - Gone but not Forgotten.
When you should go
If you're staying at the Faena or anywhere in North Beach for that matter, make a reservation at Pao for a dining experience or pair the evening's events with a cabaret or acrobatic performance at the neighboring Faena Theater.
Although there is a covered outdoor seating area, the main attraction in the dining atmosphere remains indoors and is accessible year-round.
What else you might need
Dinner is available from 7pm through 11pm Tuesday through Thursday and until midnight Friday & Saturday. The restaurant is not open on Sundays. Advanced reservations will help you avoid disappointment. Valet parking on site.
