Located a few hundred metres from the base of the Acropolis of Athens, the original structure is thought to have been completed around 132AD and served as a welcoming feature on the arrival of visiting Roman Emporor, Hadrian.

Imagine yourself stepping into the world of Ancient Athens as the arch may have greeted visitors in centuries passed. There isn't all too much to see here, but if you've enjoyed your time at the Acropolis or you'd like to enjoy a new perspective, make a short visit!

Planning your trip

Commonly viewed from outside the gates and greenery of the National Gardens, there's a great view onto the Acropolis from the western opening.

When you should go

This landmark is outdoors and in a public space, you can visit at any time. There's a great photo op with a view up to the Acropolis from within the arch itself, an early start to the day will get you the best chance of reduced visitor numbers and a great picture!

What else you might need

This landmark is in a public space and doesn't require any sort of ticket or advanced reservation, simply show up.
